Joshua Sophy is the Editor for Small Business Trends and has been a member of the team for 16 years. A journalist with 20 years of experience in traditional and online media, Joshua supervises the day-to-day operations of Small Business Trends' busy editorial department including the editorial calendar and outgoing assignments.

Joshua attended Waynesburg University as a student of graphic design and is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists. He got his start in the newspaper business of Pennsylvania's coal region, first as a sports writer and later as a beat reporter covering news. He eventually founded his own local newspaper, the Pottsville Free Press, where he served as a publisher, editor and reporter.

Joshua then moved to the online copywriting world after a stint as a weekly newspaper editor for Journal Register. He joined Small Business Trends as a breaking news and tech writer in 2013, where he covered such memorable events as the launch of Instagram video.
